I'll be on the Jeff Rense Show, Sept 9, 8pm pac

Correction: I'll be ont the show Tuesday Sept 9, (not 8th as previously stated).

Did Sarah Palin help build a model communitarian city in rural Alaska? Yes. How do I know this for sure? All I needed to do was go read their website.
"Wasilla is focused on the needs of its current residents while planning for the future." City of Wasilla Development page, http://www.cityofwasilla.com/index.aspx?page=46

"Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." http://www.ace.mmu.ac.uk/eae/Sustainability/Older/Brundtland_Report.html(1987 The definition of sustainable development presented by the UN's Bruntland Commission.

The term itself was offically adopted at the Earth Summit in Rio in 1992. The mandate for sustainable everything became the foundation for localizing the UN Local Agenda 21 Programme in 168 member nations.

Hauled and cut wood all afternoon and set up a water supply to the new home gertee. Got lazy about putting up the last of the wool insulation, it's so heavy I just can't work on it every day. It's still raining most days but staying at 50 above so I'm grateful I'm not freezing AND wet. I can sure tell I'm in my 50s now; hauling logs hurts just a little more and the pain lingers for just a little longer. I can't imagine how I'll manage to live this lifestlye in my 60s, unless little Freddie takes over for me when he's 10. Of course there's always the possibility this area will be absorbed into Valdez or Glenallen or be in a borough government. This would mean new regulations will be passed that won't allow me to do this anymore. This may be the only place left in America where there are no building codes and no community developers or community cops. Copper Center has all the native "community health" programs and the local churches get faith-based grants but they don't have any power to inspect our properties or to give out tickets for Soviet code violations.

The Kenny Lake Mercantile (kennylake.com)is closing. Sharon Forster, current owner, lost in her civil suit against the former owners for non-disclosure of building problems. Word is Sharon didn't notice or check the box that said she wanted full disclosure. She moved here from Utah; nobody told her how many crooks live in Alaska too. It's a crying shame. She spent 3 years fixing everything and now she lost it all. We built her a beautiful website and her park has been packed ever since. The former owners are hated by most locals and many people boycotted it when the Winninghams owned it. The only reason Wengers opened their store at 11 mile is because the community begged them to and promised to support them. Sharon worked hard to repair the damage with the locals, and she even offered to manage it over the winter and keep all her employees, but they refused; they'd rather only cater to the summer visitors. This is very bad news for us, as it's "town." There's nothing else like it out here. Too bad somebody decent doesn't come along and buy it. It has great potential.

Radio host Jeff Rense (rense.com) invited me back on his show and I'm scheduled to go on Sept 8. Got an email just now from Lisa Long that Rense's site has been hacked. Went to check it out and it's true, he posted a note that says he's been under serious attack. Here's a few articles/blogs I read while I was there:

"PALIN’S PASTOR SPEAKS ABOUT ISRAEL"
By Brother Nathanael Kapner, Copyright 2008:

From Lisa Long's (Angels for Truth) newsletter I learned just by reading the titles how Palin is seen by the left, the feminists, the enviros, save the animals, stop global warming and Obamites. Communitarianism blends these groups with Palin's conservative, NRA, & pro-life Christian values. Obviously nobody's told these groups. But first, before everyone's going to get along and live happily ever after, there must be major conflicts between the primary sides, the more violent, the better. The globalists need us to fight each other within our own nations. We must all be destroyed from within. This is what Hegel says moves humanity closer to social and spiritual perfection, and Hegel was only interpreting God's Idea. A couple links I went to:

"Sarah Palin: A Closet Zionist?"
by Tamar Yonah

From Tamar's blog:
(IsraelNN.com) Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin slammed Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama in her acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night, saying, "Terrorist states are seeking nuclear weapons without delay; he wants to meet them without preconditions. Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America; he's worried that someone won't read them their rights." http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/152476

an artist who wonders why Palin doesn't answer the questions about her kids:

As for Palin's Pentacostal beliefs, I wish that didn't even need to be addressed. But it's all part of the big entertainment show called Election 2008, and Sarah Palin is the rising star. There's an ancient prophecy that was told to my Inupiat friend Maynard by outside American Indians. Lakota and Hopi's said their people's visions told them there would one day rise a great white woman from the far north who would unite all the tribes and bring peace to all the people. I can't help but wonder what Maynard and those Indians think of this bizarre turn of events. Ho.

"Abstinence-only educators By Thomas Schaller 01 Sep 2008 Both Sarah Palin and John McCain back abstinence-only education... What's galling is this: When the subject is a pregnancy to an unwed, minority teenage mother growing up in some (presumably Democratic) urban area, that pregnancy becomes fodder for lectures from conservatives about bad parenting, the perils of welfare spending and so on. But when the subject is a pregnancy to an unwed, white teenager from some small town in a Republican state, that pregnancy is...a celebration of the wonders of God's magnificence--and choosing life!"
